On Thursday, the heroes of Denver Comic Con, who will host their second annual fest May 31-June 2, will return to the Breckenridge Brewery to cook up a new beer that will be featured at the Colorado Convention Center and at various spots around town.

The details are still being worked out, but Breckenridge spokesman Matt Eldridge says the new collaboration will be a Belgian-style wit made with Buddha's Hand fruit. As in 2012, Denver Comic Con will host a naming contest on its Facebook page; last year's beer, an American wheat ale, was brilliantly named "The Fantastic Pour."Once the name is decided, Breckenridge and Denver Comic Con will find a comic artist to draw the artwork for the tap handle and commemorative pint glasses.
"In May, we will be hosting a party in Denver in conjunction with DCC to unveil the 2013 Comic Con brew," he adds. Then, during the convention, "we'll have our Super Squad of Brew Crew Girls out around town and at DCC, so you'll know where to find us." The beer will be on tap as several bars, clubs and restaurants.
The brwery will host an after-party each night of DCC at one of these bars with special celebrities who will hand out for meet-and-greets and autographs. (Wil Wheaton, a home brewer, is scheduled to be a DCC, but Breck isn't making any promises.)
Earlier in February, DCC announced that, in addition to Wheaton, New York Times bestselling graphic novelist and illustrator Chris Ware and True Blood actor Nelsan Ellis would join Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, pop-cultural hero George Takei, and Marvel Comics scribe George Perez to the show.
