Comment of the day: Hate turns to threat of PETA protest of Westword!

Despite some readers' allegations that we're milking the video of the live octopus hot pot (something, by the way, we never condemned nor condoned but merely documented) to a cruel and unusual extent, the glorious comments keep pouring in-- and we're going to keep showcasing the best ones. Despite some readers' allegations that we're milking the video of the live octopus hot pot (something, by the way, we never condemned nor condoned but merely documented) to a cruel and unusual extent, the glorious comments keep pouring in-- and we're going to keep showcasing the best ones.

And today, we had a couple of truly magnificent notes.

Both of them came from Belinda Heinikey-Williamson, who first wrote:

As an active PETA member I am going to encouraging everyone who was as sick and disgusted by this post by Miss Shrunk to protest with me next Tuesday, October 19th outside of Westword's Office. We need to show solidarity against the corruption and cowardice of these meat tortures! I will not rest until these Octopi are out of soup bowels and back into the wild where they belong. I will see all my brethren next Tuesday 11am!

We're not totally certain what "soup bowels" are, but they sound like they may require medical treatment.

But PETA proponent Belinda didn't stop there:

Go ahead eat your meat! When that burger doesnt decompose in your intestine for several years, I will enjoy take healthy solid BMs every morning. Whole grains shall set you free. http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2010/10/13/mcdonalds-happy-meal-didnt-decay-after-6-months-photos-show/ As it stands now we have 13 womyn coming to the protest on Tuesday. Animal cruelty will no longer be tolerated! @Incisor Our house is 104% carbon neutral, we have solar panels lining our house, and everything else is run on Bio Diesel.

That's right. Apparently we'll see thirteen "womyn" protesting outside our offices on Tuesday.

We're honored.
