Beer season continues at Cafe Society, as another contest comes your way today: We have a pair of tickets to "The Great COntenders," a "pre-GABF showcase of Colorado's beer heavyweights" with more than twenty Colorado breweries and fifty beers.

The party is Saturday, September 24, at the Wyknoop Brewing Co., and tickets are $30 the day of -- unless you get them for free here. Read on to find out how.

The Great COntenders party is the kick-off to Visit Denver's "Denver Beer Fest," the week-long local beer bonanza that precedes the much larger (and very sold-out) Great American Beer Festival. This pre-party, a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild, runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

How to play: Briefly tell us about your favorite Colorado beer (not brewery) and why it's your favorite. Leave your first and last name (we have to put it on the guest list), along with a valid e-mail address, so we can contact you if you win. We'll pick the winner at 5 p.m. Wednesday and contact him or her by 9 a.m. Thursday.

Cheers!
