Monday, August 25

WaterCourse Foods hosts a fundraiser for the Colorado Anti-Violence Program today. From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., CAVP will get 10 to 15 percent of the proceeds from your tab at the restaurant. For more information, call 303-832-7313 or go to www.watercoursefoods.com.

The Frasca Monday Night Wine Dinner Series continues tonight with Ligurian Wines of Bisson. Dinner is $50 per person for four courses, not including optional wine pairings (ranging from $45 to $50 a person); Frasca Food and Wine co-owner and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey will be on-hand. Wine and Whey is holding a hands-on, 30 Minute Mozzarella class at 6:30 p.m. today. The one-hour class will include crafting two batches of cheese (you get to keep what you make). Tuition is $35; for more information, head to wineandwhey.com.

Wednesday, August 27

The Alamo Drafthouse is offering a four-course beer dinner inspired by Quentin Tarantino's debut film, Reservoir Dogs, which will be screening tonight at 7 p.m. Each course is paired with a select beer from Breckenridge Brewery. Start off with a diner-inspired first dish and work your way through a salad course based on Mr. Orange and Mr. White's car ride, a darkly humorous entree take on the infamous cop-torture scene and finish things off with a Mr. Pink-inspired dessert. The Museum of Contemporary Art's last Mixed Taste of the season tonight tonight combines Minimalism & Giant Vegetables (with Elissa Auther and Gifford Miller, respectively). Doors open at 6 p.m., the program is at 7 p.m. at 3126 Larimer Street. Tickets are $10 or $15 MCA members; call 303-298-7554 or go to mcadenver.org.

Gourmet on Gore kicks off today in Vail and will run through the holiday weekend. This unique culinary festival offers an open-air tasting with world-class wine, beer and spirits paired with food from Vail's top restaurants. Civic Center Park gets cooking for A Taste of Colorado today. Over fifty Denver eateries and food vendors will be featured; there will also be live music, games and activities for the whole family. Admission to the event is free; purchase food and drink with tickets. Taste runs from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
