Monday, August 1
 

Today is Colorado Day, and the History Colorado Center is celebrating Colorado’s 140th birthday with free admission, food, music, dancing and more. Check historycoloradocenter.org for more information.

Dunkin' Donuts will be celebrating Colorado Day with cold-brew coffee and Colorado flag doughnuts. When you buy a cold-brew coffee today through August 7 at a participating Colorado location, you'll receive a free Colorado flag doughnut.

Today all Tavern locations will be rolling out the Tavern's Fantasy Football Draft Party promotion, where you and up to eleven of your friends can get unlimited draft beer for a four-hour period for $125. The deal, which runs through Wednesday, September 7, is not available Fridays after 4 p.m., and reservations must be made in advance. Call your favorite Tavern location to save your space, or find details on the Tavern website.

New World Cheese will host James Beard Award-winning author Adrian Miller for "Mac 'n' Cheese in Presidential History - Making America Grate Again," today from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Miller will talk about the history of mac and cheese in the White House, while you load up at a mac-and-cheese bar with all the fixings. Tickets to the event are $11.54, and the mac-and-cheese bar is $10; grab your tickets here

Today Ace is launching a weekly table-tennis "ladder" league, which will take place every Monday at 6:30 p.m., as well as an open amateur tournament Tuesdays at 6 p.m. There is a $10 nightly fee for the Monday league; Tuesday night's tournaments are free. Gift-card prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the ladder league's eight-week session; gift-card prizes for Tuesday tournaments are awarded at the end of each night. Frasca Food and Wine will welcome Kelli A. White, author of Napa Valley, Then and Now, who will pour wines from Napa Valley for the restaurant's Monday Night Wine Dinner Series this evening. Tuesday, August 2 

The Colorado Alcohol Beverage Symposium is set for today and tomorrow at the History Colorado Center. The event will focus on providing information for "licensees on the manufacturing, distribution and retail side of the alcohol beverage industry with the tools they need to operate in the safest and most efficient way possible." Crimson Room's
monthly cocktail class returns from 6 to 7 p.m. today. For $30, you'll get admission to the class, two cocktails, tips on mixing up great drinks, recipes to take home to re-create the cocktails, and more. To save your spot, call the Crimson Room at 720-639-6987.

History Buffs and Brews brings happy hour and history together at History Colorado every Tuesday, and this week you can also make buttons with the Historical Craft Society. During the weekly series, History Colorado, Great Divide Brewing Company and the Rendezvous Cafe will offer $3 beer specials, tasty appetizers and a full bar, as well as the opportunity to engage with Colorado history and the museum’s collection. Wednesday, August 3 

Palenque Mezcaleria will host Arik Torren from Fidencio Mezcal, La Venenosa Raicilla, Koch Mezcal and Mezcal Durumbes at a four-course dinner with drink pairings. The dinner starts at 6 p.m. and is $45; call 303-778-1294 for reservations. 

Films, Chefs, and Glorious Song, a benefit for the Flatirons Food Film Festival, will roll into the Dairy Arts Center from 6:30 to 10 p.m. today. During the benefit, you can enjoy a screening of The Perennial Plate; small plates from celebrated Boulder chefs inspired by the short film; interactive live opera from Opera on Tap Colorado; a live auction and more. Tickets are $80 and can be purchased on the Dairy Arts Center's website. And as of last Friday, ticket prices were reduced and you can now pick up two for the price of one. The Festival earned 501c3 non-profit status this year, which means sponsorships and donations are now tax deductible. 

Backyard on Blake is throwing a crawfish boil from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. There will also be live music and plenty of drinks. Tickets are $40; grab yours and get all the details at backyardonblake.com

Thursday, August 4
 

Coohills' Beats on the Creek summer concert series continues from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today with a performance by Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Track Revival. The music is free; a portion of the proceeds from food and beverage sales will go to the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado. Check out the complete summer lineup at coohills.com

Spend an evening indulging in Scotch, cigars and food at the Palm Denver starting at 5:30 p.m. today.  For $40, you will get Scotch, food and one cigar. Visit the event's Facebook page for more information. 

Slattery's Irish Pub is holding a Tullamore DEW Irish whiskey dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight for $35 per person or $60 per couple. Along with the dinner and cocktails, there will be a presentation by Ailish Egan, Tullamore's brand ambassador. For tickets, click here.  

You can taste award-winning wines from the 2016 Governor's Cup Competition at the Governor's Cup Tasting at the History Colorado Center starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature the top twelve winning wines, plus small-plate pairings; tickets are $45, or $90 for VIP.  Friday, August 5

Today is National Oyster Day and Jax Fish House is celebrating by handing out 100 orders of a half-dozen Emersum Oysters at each location, starting at 4 p.m. For more information, contact the Jax restaurant nearest you. 

The Olympics in Rio get under way today, and to celebrate, The Pig & The Sprout, which opened this summer behind Union Station, will offer $3 Caipirinhas and $3 Olympia beers. Call 720-535-9719 for more information.
