Fate Brewing in Boulder said today that it will take over some of the space that Avery Brewing had occupied during its 22 years at 5763 Araphoe Avenue. Avery moved out of the ramshackle collection of warehouses in February, upgrading to a huge new $30 million brewery and restaurant campus on nearly six acres in the Gunbarrel section of town.
Avery founder Adam Avery confirmed to Westword in June that Fate would buy two of its units and rent some of the others, "so our old tap room will be theirs as well." He also said Fate was planning to buy some of Avery's old equipment.
Fate founder Mike Lawinski has declined to discuss the sale in the past, and hasn't returned emails to Westword in some time.

November 16, 2015 (Boulder, CO) – 2015 has been a big year for FATE Brewing Company located in Boulder, Colorado. The brand recently signed on with Elite Brands of Colorado for statewide distribution, released three new canned products and now has another big announcement to share.
The brewpub will increase its capacity with its expansion into the space that formerly housed Avery Brewing Company for over 21 years.
Since opening in February of 2013, FATE has built a solid footprint around the state and gone on to win many awards including a Gold Medal in the German Style Kölsch category at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival for Laimas Kölsch Style Ale and a Bronze Medal in the Pro-Am category at the 2015 GABF for single hopped Citra IPA.
The beloved home of Avery since 1993, located at 5763 Arapahoe Ave in Boulder, will add much needed production capacity for the currently maxed out craft brewery.
“We increased our fermentation capability by over 80% at the end of 2014 in our existing space at the brewpub located at 1600 38th Street in Boulder,” said FATE Brewing Company owner Mike Lawinski “and that growth meant we met capacity in our current brewery footprint. The acquisition of the additional square footage and brewery equipment enables us to reward our loyal fans, the people who have loved our beer along the way and gotten us to where we are today.”
