Since we reported last month that Denver would be among the many cities to host a Snuggie Pub Crawl -- in which proud owners of the awesomely popular sleeved blanket slip into their Snuggies and get hammered -- we've been counting the days until the event. We'd heard it was scheduled for April 25, so this week, with the date approaching, we asked a writer to contact the organizers and get the scoop. That's when we received a most devastating e-mail:

"We are no longer planning the Denver pub crawl," Alyssa Kent, an organizer from snuggiepubcrawl.com, told us. "We are focusing solely on Chicago and NYC."

After briefly considering moving to Chicago, I started Googling, and came across this binary flicker of hope: The Denver Snuggie Pub Crawl Facebook page, which seemed to indicate the event was still on. I called the listed organizer, Ted Morse. He kindly explained the confusion. I kindly told him I loved him.

Morse, 28, says he and his cycling buddies were already thinking about doing some sort of Snuggie-related fundraiser when they heard about the pub crawls, so they tried to partner with the web site to organize the event here in Denver. Eventually, though, snuggiepubcrawl.com dropped out -- to focus on NYC and Chicago, just as Alyssa explained. But Morse and Co. have pressed on.

"They didn't have their stuff together," Our Hero says. "We're going to do one, anyway."

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Jackson's in LoDo. Check-in starts at 2:30 p.m. Drinking starts three hours prior, in your apartment, as you decide how much (or little) to wear under your Snuggie. It continues like so, according to Morse:

3-5pm Jackson's Sports Bar - entire rooftop deck; 2-1 for your 1st beer; cash bbq. 5-6:30pm Delany's Bar - rented the whole bar for 1 1/2 hours; FREE beer/shot. 6:30-8pm Cowboy Lounge - rented the whole bar for 2 hours; 2-1's on Beer, wells, wine. 8-10pm Lodo's - rented 1/2 the bar; $2 beers/shots.

It will cost you $20, the proceeds from which will go to either the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center. If you don't have one already, it will also cost you the price of a Snuggie. But the Cherry Creek Bed Bath and Beyond will give you a discount if you tell them it's for the Crawl, Morse says.

And that's pretty much it. God Bless Morse for doing it, and stay tuned to westword.com for coverage of the event, including photos and likely a first-person account from one of our desperate and single interns. Because if you can't hook up at a Snuggie Pub Crawl, then your game needs a tune-up, homie.
