In the unlikely event you've never heard of Pinkberry, whose headquarters are in West Hollywood, it's the emperor of tart and tangy nonfat frozen yogurt whose gazillion toppings -- fresh fruit, organic gummy bears, Belgian chocolate shavings, Fruity Pebbles, pomegranate juice and a million more -- are nearly all a buck a scoop. The upshot, is that if you add enough toppings, you've got dinner; the downside, of course, if that by the time you've accessorized your yogurt, you've bought dinner.
In any case, the yogurt, which is swirled in six flavors -- original, pomegranate, coconut, chocolate, mango and passionfruit -- lives up to its lofty reputation, and you can bet that when it opens in Glendale (a second Pinkberry is skedded to swirl downtown later this summer, and an additional 15 stores are planned for future roll out), Pinkberry groupies will be falling all over themselves, especially since the store is doling out free yogurt to anyone who stops by between 6 and 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, which is the pre-opening party before the grand opening stampede.
