This week in Westword Food & Drink, Gretchen Kurtz visited Will Call, the latest from the Little Pub Company on industrial Brighton Boulevard, to see if the kitchen's Venezuelan-inspired menu of arepas and bar snacks is worth a visit or in need of some re-tooling. On South Broadway, Cho77 debuted on Monday, featuring pan-Asian noodle soups and hand-made bao buns and dumplings from ChoLon's Lon Symensma. Dumplings from another part of the world popped up in a new Polish fast-casual eatery this week as Pierogies Factory turned on the burners for boiled, sauteed and deep-fried pierogies on Wadsworth Boulevard in Wheat Ridge.

Mark Antonation talked to chef Cindhura Reddy and general manager Elliot Strathmann, who purchased neighborhood Italian eatery Spuntino last fall from another married couple, John Broening and Yasmin Lozada-Hissom. And in other chef news, Wade Kirwan is back behind the burners in LoDo, taking the job as chef de cuisine at Jax Fish House after six months shucking oysters. In other news:

RESTAURANTS OPENING THIS WEEK*
Basil Flats, 2900 Baseline Road, Boulder
Cho77, 42 South Broadway
Crumb Cafe, 217 South Holly Street
Pierogies Factory, 3895 Wadsworth Boulevard

*Or earlier, and not reported in a previous Second Helping.
