Land of Sushi seemed promising.
The place, which is under owners Steve and Jessie Lin, has been splashing around the southern suburbs for the last eleven years, luring nearby residents to its strip mall location for an unbeatable deal: pieces of sushi for $1 a pop, a "happy hour" price available any time the restaurant is open.
That bargain has hooked a lot of patrons, but beyond the fish offered on the cheap, the restaurant has a sizeable menu of sushi and non-sushi items that spans the pedestrian California rolls, salmon and tuna, to be sure, but also incorporates much rarer items and specials.
I headed down to the sushi joint for this week's review, eating whatever the chefs behind the bar could throw at me, from those cheap cuts of fish to dishes I hardly ever see in this town.
How was the food? Find out tomorrow, when the review is posted here.
