A restaurant beginning with the letter Z — Zocalito, a Oaxacan-inspired Latin American restaurant — was the last eatery to open in Denver in 2018, capping a long roster of openings over the past twelve months. Also just sneaking in under the wire was LeRoux, chef Lon Symensma's tribute to the posh European restaurants he trained in as a young culinary student.
But Denver's about to lose a legend. Lines have been long at White Fence Farm since it was announced that the venerable fried chicken restaurant would close after dinner service on Sunday, December 30, 2018. The goats and other farm animals will all have new homes come 2019.
Here's our complete list of openings and closings for the week of December 24-30, plus links to our original coverage.

With 2018 wrapping up, we've been looking back at a great year of dining and drinking. Here's our list of the best new restaurants of the year, as well as the best new bars.
As much as we were impressed by all the big-money openings of the year, we grew a little tired of the copycat nature of the restaurant industry. So we served up five restaurant trends we think should disappear in 2019.
Have you spotted any openings or closings that aren't on our list? Let us know in the comments or send an email to [email protected]. And watch for our 2018 Restaurant Roll Call coming January 1.
