The Digs: Partaking in happy hour at a Cherry Creek chain restaurant isn't something we'd usually, if ever, be keen about. But on a lazy afternoon, early in the week, NoRTH isn't really all that bad. The grandiose and airy dining room is a blend of chic, earthy-green leather booths, high ceilings and sleek wooden floors, while the duel patios feature deuces placed in a single line along the gates, so you can enjoy your conversation without worrying about other guests intruding.
The Verdict: NoRTH isn't stingy about its portions -- a perk that scores major points in our book. The pomodoro meatballs with shaved Parmesan is nothing fancy, but the meatballs are gigantic and better than you'd expect for four bucks. The trio of spreads is a lovely snack to share with a buddy, and it's served with enough grilled bread to provide a very sturdy base for many joyous hours of tipping back cocktails - or $7 glasses of Moët et Chandon - after a day of blowing cash in Cherry Creek. Service can be slow (surprising, considering we were one of the only parties there), but our server was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The biggest downfall? Parking is a bitch.
