The first week was tough, though: The beleaguerd Beauvallon building is still hidden by scaffolding, and Wang says he had to get rid of almost his entire staff. But now, with the scaffolding slated to be removed by Wednesday, August 18, Wang says he's ready to hold Se7en's official grand opening on Friday, August 20. (At the other end of the block, at 975 Lincoln, Japoix is still looking at an August 20 opening date, too.)
The concept behind Se7en is change. Se7en's menu will always have seven entrees, Wang explains, but those entrees will change at least every month. And even though the restaurant will serve Asian fusion-type dishes, Wang insists that he doesn't want his place to be labeled as "Chinese" or "Asian"; he wants the ever-changing menu to speak for itself.
Se7en is currently open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight (the kitchen close at 10 p.m.). For more information, call 303-860-7777.
