"I had been looking for a space for a while, but it seemed like every time I came across one, someone else grabbed it," recalls Krull. "But then I remembered seeing that this place had been empty for a while -- I actually grew up right across the street, coincidentally -- and so I figured I'd come back to the neighborhood."Zest is currently open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; in addition to sandwiches, salads and soups, there's a raw vegetarian dish every day. Krull also hopes to obtain a liquor license soon, and plans to have an affordable wine selection along with eight beers on tap, most of which will be local.
