This past weekend, Pueblo hosted its 21st annual Chiles and Frijoles Festival, which celebrates the bounty of Colorado's farms — and the great chiles grown there. Farmers brought in Pueblo, or Mirasol, chiles; Anaheims and Big Jims; scorching Dynamite and lesser-known varieties like Mosco and Marconi — and there wasn't a Hatch chile in sight. Or even a fake Hatch chile, since China is now exporting its own version. Says Martin:
Yeah, sparkling wine is fine — but only champagne is made in France. Get those fake green chiles outta here!
