The news that Cheeky Monk was closing up shop at 534 East Colfax Avenue — and closing up fast — inspired a lot of comments, some from fans and some from foes. And a few were surprisingly heartfelt. Says Ed:
Good memories from that place. I only lived two blocks away.
Adds Angela:
Sad news. Site of our first date!
And then there's this from Dave: 
I'll never forget looking across the bar and seeing a woman who was the love of my life. Unfortunately, I sobered up.
