There are a lot of rules regarding alcohol that I don't follow, but using the right glass for the right wine is a dictum that I have learned -- after hundreds of hours of personal research -- is key to giving wine the only chance to taste as the vintner wanted it to taste.

You can save yourself hundreds of hours of drunken research by going to the Tivoli Riedel Glass Seminar -- Wine & Glass Experience today at the Tivoli on the Auraria campus. The event, which runs from 5 to 6 p.m., costs $75 -- but that includes four Riedel wine glasses (worth $116 retail), along with admission to Denver Food & Wine's Art of the Cocktail & a Concert, which starts at 6 p.m.
