The music hasn't played in the corner space that holds Samba Room, 1460 Larimer Street, for six months now, but despite speculation that the Latin American restaurant might never reopen, the Larimer Associates, who own the property, say the beat will go on-- it just won't start pulsating until early next year.

E-Brands, the Florida-based group that owns the restaurant, was forced to close to fix a leaky floor, but it took longer than expected to start construction because the group was waiting on an insurance pay-out. But while those damages are now fixed, other issues have surfaced, which are contributing to the delay.

"They ran into some environmental problems when they started construction," says Joe Vostrejs, COO of the Larimer Associates. "They won't make a mid-December opening. It'll likely be sometime in January or February."

Better late than never.
