It's been a long time coming, but we hear that Phat Thai -- the Denver offshoot of Mark Fischer's famed Carbondale restaurant -- is opening at 11 a.m. today at 2900 East Second Avenue.

Here's the word on the new spot from the Phat Thai website: "Located in the still decidedly hip and fashionable Cherry Creek neighborhood, where 'hole in the wall noodle joint' meets casual neighborhood restaurant and lounge meets something a little more sophisticated: a poised urban design of reclaimed woods, architectural metals and glass walls that define our space for a menu inspired by our travels to SE Asia."

We'll post an update later today.
