Tacos Jalisco Reopens After Minor Upgrades

Tacos Jalisco closed on December 21 for remodeling, promising to reopen on January 2. Tacos Jalisco closed on December 21 for remodeling, promising to reopen on January 2. Well, the time-honored (and slightly timeworn) Mexican joint in Berkeley honored its word, and is now back serving those familiar burritos, carnitas and combo plates in an updated dining room.

The two seating areas are a little sleeker but are still comfortable and familiar. The most extensive changes came in the bathrooms and kitchen, which is a good thing for diners — after all, a happy cook makes better food.

The menu and hours have not changed, so you can still eat your fill from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day except Monday. Keep reading for a few interior photos.
