The brewery invited the public to decorate special hearts for display and to sell, with proceeds going to the American Heart Association. Epic Brewing presents a new kind of beer-pairing event tonight: The RiNo taphouse is partnering dark, barrel-aged sours with pitch-black stories from the master of Mile High noir, Manuel Ramos. Beginning at 7 p.m., Epic brewmasters will serve samples and explain their characteristics and their connection to one of Ramos's pieces. The author will read from his books Desperado and My Bad and sign copies, and the brewery will also feature the noir-inspired artwork of Leslie A. Aguillard. Space is limited, so stop by Epic to sign up starting at 5:30 p.m.
Sample the steamy true history of Valentine's Day at Spuntino's latest wine dinner. Inspired by the Festa di San Valentino and the pagan fertility festival Lupercalia (traditionally celebrated today), the menu includes unconventional proteins, astringent flavors of blood orange and pecorino, and rich Italian wines.
