From brews and budgets to mezcal and Mexican food, two tasty events this evening are guaranteed to make you think — and drink.

Warm Cookies of the Revolution will host an event for drinkers and thinkers alike today. From 6 to 8 p.m. tonight What's Brewin' will bring together state representative Alec Garnett, reps of the Colorado Fiscal Institute and Warm Cookies's Evan Weissman to discuss two innovative and very different funding mechanisms for local and state governments: social impact bonds and participatory budgeting. Even though the subject matter may seem a little dry, the event will be far from it: Great Divide, Jagged Mountain, Former Future, Caution Brewing, Grandma's House, Salud Custom Brews, Happy Leaf Kombucha, Rocky Mountain Soda and Bhakti Chai will all be on hand to keep your whistle wet while you discuss budgets and bonds. There will also be drinking games galore at this event at the McNichols Building; register here.

Adelitas welcomes Del Maguey founder Ron Cooper for a mezcal dinner with guest chefs Troy Guard of TAG, Sean Yontz of Blue Plate Taco Company, Kevin Grossi of Lola, David Lopez of El Chingon and Silvia Ayala of Adelitas. Reservations are $75 per person; call 303-778-1294 to make yours.
