There will be 87 Colorado breweries pouring their stuff at the Great American Beer Festival this year, according to a full list of attending breweries released today by the Boulder-based Brewers Association. Amazingly, that roster includes a dozen brand-new breweries that either didn't exist at this time last year or opened too late to get in: Big Choice, Bootstrap, BRU, City Star, Echo, Elevation, Hogshead, Loveland Aleworks, River North, Shine, TRVE and Wit's End.

But are also a few noticeable absences, including Coopersmith's, Crooked Stave, Del Norte, Durango, Golden City and Grand Lake.

And a good number of spots were also filled by corporations or chains, including MillerCoors, which separately registered seven of its Colorado-based divisions; Rock Bottom, which will have five Colorado locations on tap at the festival; and CB & Potts, which has four.

The Great American Beer Festival will run October 11-13; tickets go on sale on August 2. There will be 84 categories this year, covering 135 beer styles.
