Denver's first Protein Bar, a concept that was conceived by founder Matt Matros, who opened the first Protein Bar in Chicago in 2009, landed in Denver in early May, beckoning diners with a concept, says Matros, that's "all about fresh and flavorful food" that does a body good. "It's me making what I like to eat; we do healthy food healthier, and we give our guests a palette of choices when it comes to proteins, because we believe in giving people options when they're choosing what's best for their body," he stresses.
When that store was unveiled, Matros welcomed the first 100 guests with $100 gift cards, and come Saturday, when the Colorado Boulevard shop opens, not only will the first 100 people receive $500 gift cards (a valid ID is required, and you must be eighteen or older), but Matros will be there giving away samples and even more swag, plus he plans on having a DJ and yoga and boot camp workouts that'll shake your booty.
We encourage you to roll out of bed early -- the store opens promptly at 11 a.m. -- and snap up your space in line, but for those of you who prefer to spend Saturday morning in bed, we have an alternative that will allow you that luxury. We're giving one Cafe Society commenter the chance to win a $500 Protein Bar gift card by simply typing in a few lazy keystrokes.
If you want to win, just answer this question: How many Buffalo Bar-ritos were sold nationwide at Protein Bar in 2013? The person who comes the closest to the actual answer without going over, will win the gift card.
In order to be considered, please submit your answer, your name and a valid e-mail address (if you're already registered with MyVoiceNation, then we have your e-mail; if you're not, then we don't, and without an e-mail address, you can't win) in the comments section below.
We'll announce the winner by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 20.
