Last year's FEAST! Vail was one of my favorite culinary events of the year, especially for a first-time soiree. And it's back this year for round two, giving revelers a three-day opportunity to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with Denver and the Vail Valley's most talented kitchen magicians. The festival, which kicks off May 23 and continues through May 26, trumpets food-and-spirit seminars, wine-pairing dinners, mountain hikes with the chefs, a small plates tasting bash and a Colorado Craft Brew & Spirits tasting.

"Everyone knows about the adventure-side of Vail's summer with climbing, fishing and hiking, but Vail has also built a reputation for culinary excellence, so we wanted to combine these two aspects in one fantastic weekend," says FEAST! Vail event producer James Deighan of HIGHLINE. "Participants will be treated to some exceptional food and drink, and also have the opportunity to climb, hike and take a fly-casting clinic with some of the best chefs in the nation, adds Deighan."

Seventeen chefs, including Frank Bonanno, Troy Guard, Paul Reilly, Carrie Shores and Elise Wiggins, are participating in the festival, which will also feature a fly-fishing seminar hosted by Top Chef contestant and James Beard Award-winner Kelly Liken, who also owns Restaurant Kelly Liken.

All of the various events and seminars are priced individually, and you can purchase tickets at FeastVail.com, or you can snag free tickets right here, because one Cafe Society commenter will win two tickets to the Saturday Colorado Beer & Spirits tasting, which goes from 5 to 8 p.m., plus an additional two tickets to one seminar of their choice.

Want to win?

Here's what we want to know: How many small plates were passed at FEAST! Vail's inaugural festival in 2013? We'll award the two tickets to the person who comes the closest to the correct answer without going over.

In order to be considered, please submit your answer, your name and a valid e-mail address (if you're already registered with MyVoiceNation, then we have your e-mail; if you're not, then we don't, and without an e-mail address, you can't win) in the comments section below.

We'll announce the winner on Thursday, May 22. And before entering the contest, please make sure that you're available on Saturday, May 24, which is the date of the Colorado Beer & Spirits Tasting. The side seminars, listed below, are offered on Saturday and Sunday.
