The Digs: As its stash of watering holes in the Denver area has grown, the Little Pub Company has consistently nailed the neighborhood bar concept, and Wyman's is no exception. A cozy home base for Chicago sports fans, Wyman's provides a perfect place to kick back with a few beers, some really good pizza and a happy crowd of revelers. The bar features cherry wood tables and booths along the wall (our favorite place to hang is the make-out booth tucked into a far corner), high top tables and various games. Bears and Cubs fans will feel particularly at home here, although the friendly, laid-back bartenders make us feel like we're all one big family.

The Verdict: The bartender seemed slightly distracted by his cell phone when we walked in, but he emerged gregarious enough to make us forgive him. Wyman's offers a 50 percent discount on four appetizers during happy hour: nachos, bruschetta, wings and pepperoni rolls. We went with the pepperoni rolls and a round of Old Style.

Every once in awhile, a happy hour menu dish makes us really, really happy, giving way to a giddiness that can only come from eating something that fills every qualification for good bar eats and is also cheap as hell. The pepperoni rolls at Wyman's did exactly that. Disguised as cinnamon rolls, Wyman's pizza dough is wrapped around mozzarella cheese and savory pepperoni and thrown into a pizza oven until the cheese melts through the spiral. The slight sweetness of the dough combines perfectly with the salty pepperoni, and a dunk in ranch dressing seals the deal. It's like what you concocted in the kitchen of your college dorm after doing bong rips for hours, only way better. If nothing else, these little buggers are reason enough to head back.

Overall Grade: B+
