Yak & Yeti is familiar to those with a thirst for craft beer and a hunger for Nepalese and Indian food. The beers, like the award-winning Chai Milk Stout, show up at tap rooms around town, while the Tibetan and Nepalese specialties are rare enough in the metro area that devotees are willing to make cross-town treks for the momo and thukpa. With two restaurants -- the Arvada brewpub and a second location in Westminster -- and an international market (also in Arvada) on the northwest side of the city, owner Dol Bhattarai has decided to expand to a new part of town. Yak & Yeti's new restaurant and events center opened on Hampden Avenue earlier this week in the building that previously housed a Crystal Rose Events Center.

The building offers 8,000 square feet of space, most of which will serve as a facility for weddings, graduations and other events. The restaurant and bar, which seat 150, will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, with Yak & Yeti's buffet served at lunch every day and at dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. Bhattarai says he decided to open the location because many of his customers were driving from this part of town and asking him for someplace closer to home.
