Acreage opens to the public at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 24. It will eventually be surrounded by a two-acre apple orchard.
Stem Ciders has been turning out excellent apple-based beverages from its tiny RiNo cider house and tasting room since it opened in 2014, but founder Eric Foster wanted more room to expand production. The result is a spacious new facility set on twelve acres on a hilltop in Lafayette, complete with a farmhouse restaurant called Acreage (1380 Horizon Avenue), which opens on Saturday, February 24, at 5 p.m. With input from consulting chef Kelly Whitaker (of Basta in Boulder) and culinary director Daniel Asher (who also runs River and Woods in Boulder), Acreage combines wood-fired cooking, Spanish influences and Colorado meats and produce into a rustic menu built to complement Stem's lineup of ciders. Here's a preview of what to expect when you go.
