Colorado was one of the first states to make MLK Day a state holiday, over three decades ago, and over the years this city's annual Marade — parade and march — in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King has become one of the biggest celebrations in the country, attracting thousands of marchers.
This year it also attracted a protest, when a Black Lives Matter group disrupted Mayor Michael Hancock's speech. Danielle Lirette was there to capture all the action.
