Denver Burger Battle 2018
Denver has no shortage of feisty food and drink competitions, where cooks, bartenders and brewers square off over tacos, chicken, fancy small plates or — for booze lovers — cocktails or craft beer. The latest cook-off to hit the city was the Denver Burger Battle, which took over Tivoli Quad Park on the Auraria campus on Thursday, August 2. Nearly twenty contenders grabbed their spatulas and flipped burgers all evening until the winners were chosen; judges preferred the patties of Stanley Beer Hall (2501 Dallas Street, Aurora), which earned the title for the second year running, while Hearth & Dram (1801 Wewatta Street) swaggered away with the peoples' choice award.
