Why are you in line for the opening of Target? April Lewis: "I moved here exactly a year ago, and I told my husband that living in downtown would be perfect if only they had a Target, and here it is! So I wanted to make sure I was right here at the opening."

After many years of discussion and $4 million in subsidies from the city, Target finally opened in downtown Denver, at 16th and California streets. This is an urban-format store, which means it has one-fourth the space of bigger Targets...but eager shoppers at the official grand-opening festivities on July 22 found plenty in store.
