There are dozens of holiday beers on tap around town, whether it's at beer bars like the Falling Rock Taphouse and Freshcraft or at local breweries themselves. But there's one style of beer that absolutely screams Christmas: peppermint porter.

This week, at least two spots have one on tap.

The Yak & Yeti Brewpub taps it Peppermint Porter today at 4 p.m. as part of the restaurant's Wednesday Porter Series. No candy or artificial flavorings were used to make the beer, only organic peppermint tea.

And on Friday, Dry Dock Brewing in Aurora will tap two firkins of its own Peppermint Porter as part of its weekly Firkin Friday program; the first at 3 p.m. and the second around 7 or 8 p.m. The beer was cask conditioned with peppermint.
