Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.
The Denver Burger Battle smoked up Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Wednesday night, and while Boulder-based Mateo, one of the participating combatants in the friendly feud, didn't saunter off with a winning trophy, the French-inspired burger received very good word of mouth -- and one of you, along with three of your cohorts, will get the opportunity to try those burgers for free, while knocking back a few beers along the way.
Earlier this week, we posted a contest asking Cafe Society readers to tell us how many burgers Mateo doled out during the month of July, and one arithmetic wizard (or maybe he was just lucky) submitted the exact number.
Was it you?
If you're Fletcherneedsajob, then consider yourself crowned king, because the actual number of burgers sold at Mateo is 420, which was also your guess.
Fletcher, we'll e-mail you details about how to claim your prize.
Congrats, and thanks to everyone for playing!

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
