The third annual Ballpark Plates will hit it out of the park on Thursday, August 8, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. For $30, enjoy complimentary food and drink samples at the following participating establishments: River North Brewery, Blake Street Tavern, Zi South, Breckenridge Brewery, Cheesesteak Connection, iFish Sushi, Chino Latino Tacos, ViewHouse, Buenos Aires Pizza, Whiskey Bar, Snooze (serving at Whiskey Bar), Amerigo's, The Lobby, Great Divide, HiRise (serving at Star Bar), Trillium, Biker Jim's, Ignite, El Charrito, Zanzibar, Ginn Mill, Marquis Pizza, Herb's, Mexico City, Marco's Pizza, Star Bar, Tag/Huckleberry Roasters @ Plus Gallery, Mile High Vienna, Blue Moon Brewery and Twelve.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $30 at ballparkplates.com, or on the day of the event at Amerigo Delicatus Restaurant, 2449 Larimer Street, or ViewHouse Eatery Bar & Rooftop, 2015 Market Street. All proceeds go towards Ballpark Neighborhood improvement projects.

Monday, August 5:
Frasca, 1738 Pearl Street in Boulder, welcomes Joe Rance of the Flowers Vineyard & Winery this evening for a pre-fixe, four-course tasting menu. The meal costs $50, with additional charges for pairings; call 303-442-6966 for reservations.
Tuesday, August 6:
Coohills, 1400 Wewatta Street, is hosting the final concert in its Beats on the Creek series tonight with a performance by Oakhurst. The music will sound off on the restaurant's patio -- and the adjacent bridge over Cherry Creek -- at 6 p.m. Food, wine and cocktails will be available for purchase during the show; for more information, visit the Coohills Facebook page.
Civic Center Eats rolls on at Civic Center Park. The food-truck fest lands at the park at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays through September 26 (with the exception of August 29 and September 3). The movable feast, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., features live music in addition to food and other vendors; check the website for the full schedule of both trucks and entertainment.
Ace, 501 East 17th Avenue, hosts a table-tennis tournament from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Russell's Smokehouse, 1422 Larimer Street, is welcoming Death's Door Spirits from Washington Island, Wisconsin for a special cocktail dinner. Guests will enjoy a variety of Death's Door cocktails paired with pork dishes (the hogs raised on spent mash from the distillery) from chefs Burton Koelliker of Osteria Marco, Tim Murphy of Russell's Smokehouse, Mike Peshek of Lou's Food Bar and Stephen McCary of Mizuna. Go green tonight with Chomp! The vegan supper club meets on the first Wednesday of the month; tonight's gathering will feature a special raw, vegan menu. The event begins at 6 p.m. in City Park. Thursday, August 8:
Four teams of culinary and design professionals will compete in the Culinary Design Challenge fundraiser this evening at Kitchens at the Denver, 761 Kalamath Street. Each team will be given the same ingredients and 45 minutes to create a signature dish for local judges. The event begins at 6 p.m., costs $25 and proceeds will benefit We Don't Waste, a non-profit that collects and distributes nutritional food to local organizations that provide meals to underserved populations. The annual Denver Burger Battle goes down this evening from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Sculpture Park, Denver Performing Arts Complex. The history of beer in Boulder continues to flow every Tuesday through Saturday through October, at the Boulder History Museum, 1206 Euclid Avenue.
