This beer was a welcome change of pace from a multitude of sweet, dark, heavy beers. But it wasn't exactly light - more like a brown than an English strong ale, with thick head and a lighter, red hue. The nutty, roasted flavor reminded me of a holiday-season toffee -- with a touch of hops. Still, the sweetness wasn't overpowering, and it had a nice drying effect. - Jonathan Shikes
