Wednesday, September 19:

The girls at Twin Peaks -- 299 East Flatiron Crossing Drive in Broomfield and 14055 West Colfax Drive in Lakewood -- are celebrating "Talk Like a Pirate" Day by, well, talking like pirates while dressed in classic pirate gear: corset blouses, boots and captain hats. And they're encouraging patrons to do the same. Check the website for details.

The brewers at Great Divide Brewing, 2201 Arapahoe Street, have decided to take over half of the handles in the tap room today from 2 to 10 p.m. The crew will showcase the following experimental beers courtesy of their recently acquired pilot system: Belgian-style tripel; an India pale lager; a schwarzbier; an oaked, smoked dunkelweiss; an altbier; a hefeweizen; Baby Yeti, a 3.2 percent ABV version of the brewery's signature stout; and Baby Hercules, a similarly low-alcohol IPA. Call 303-296-9460 to check availability.
