A month after closing Gelman's at 2911 West 38th Avenue, owner Michelle Gelman just reopened the space as Boston Fish Shack, a New England-inspired grubbery that's doling out classic seafood shack plates like fish and chips, cioppino, Maryland crab cakes, lobster rolls and New England seafood chowder.

"With the progression of fresh fish and seafood arriving daily from both coasts, it's time to share the culinary pleasures of my youth with the city I now call home," says Gelman, a native New Englander, who moved to Denver in 1990.

Gelman is purchasing live lobsters from Maine and the board will change nightly to reflect what chef Tom Connolly gets in fresh that day. And the menu sounds fantastic, especially the New England clam bake, available on Friday and Saturday.

Hours are Wednesday through Saturday, from 5 p.m. to close. For more info, dial 303-458-0300.
