A:When people want an authentic New York experience in Denver, I usually tell them to fuggedaboudit. But the cannoli at Santino's on Downing (2390 South Downing Street, 303-298-1939) is the real deal: Crunchy cannoli shells wrapped around a homemade concoction of cream, ricotta cheese and powdered sugar, sweet enough but not too sugary, creamy on the tongue, with a super-smooth consistency. Purists may not like the chocolate chips that chef/owner Sonny Rando throws into the mix, but for this former Easterner, they're icing on the, um, icing.
