Starting today and continuing through Tuesday, September 29, Civic Center Park will be the site for the Civic Center Outdoor Market & Cafe, an urbanized farmers' market that kicks off the summer season today at 11 a.m. with live music and numerous vendors peddling everything from organic fruits and vegetables to soups, sandwiches, barbecue, Mexican food and bratwurst.

And tonight, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., The Fort Restaurant, 19192 Highway 8, in Morrison, hosts a New Wines of Portugal and Spain tasting focusing on 40 different wines, including tempranillos, monastrells and garnachas, all of which will be paired with hors d'oeuvres, for $37 per person. Or, head up Boulder for a wine, beer and local cuisine dinner at The Kitchen [Upstairs], 1039 Pearl Street, where the chefs will create a four-course meal using ingredients sourced from within 50 miles of Boulder paired with wines and beers produced within 250 miles.
