But according to Lindy Eichenbaum Lent, executive director of the Civic Center Conservancy, the nonprofit that launched Civic Center Eats, breakfast hasn't had the kind or morning appeal vendors had hoped for, so getting your egg on, at least for the time being, has been suspended. "The number of people commuting through the park has decreased," says Lent. "It's possible that we may try to bring back breakfast in warmer months, but for now our focus will be on building an audience for daily lunch service," whose new hours will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on days when the park has been permitted for another event, which is the case tomorrow.
Still, the daily coalition of pavement food pushers needs a catchy name, since Civic Center EATS is already reserved for the Tuesday grubfest -- and that's where you come in.
Between now and next Friday, October 22, we're asking you to submit ideas for a new title for the daily lunch feast, which will ultimately be determined by the staff of the Civic Center Conservancy -- so make your contributions count.
In return for your creative finesse, one of you will win two lunch vouchers to spend at the newly named street food fest. Be sure to include at least your first name and a valid e-mail address (and, no, we won't pass it on to anyone else) when you submit your comments.
Go ahead, wow us.
