The thirteenth annual Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines Festival takes place in Vail this Thursday through Saturday, January 12. This winter fest features some of the most unique and rare craft beers in the country; check the website for the full lineup of participating breweries, the schedule of events and ticket availability.

Wednesday, January 9:

Lucky Pie Pizza & Taphouse, 1610 16th Street, is showcasing a special holiday ale and dopplebock from Wyoming's Grand Teton Brewing Company today at 4 p.m.; call 303-825-1021 for more information.

The back wall at Euclid Hall, 1317 14th Street, will be taken over by California's Russian River Brewing Co. today. The beer hall will begin pouring the brewery's Supplication, Consecration and Temptation ales at 7 p.m.; call 303-595-4255 for more details.Thursday, January 10:

Arugula Bar e Ristorante, 2785 Iris Avenue in Boulder, is hosting a five-course dinner paired with wines from the Mauro Molino vineyards tonight at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $69 per person, call 303-443-5100 to reserve a seat. Here's a look at the menu:

Antipasti plate of four items: shaved fennel dressed in warm blood orange vinaigrette; roasted radishes* tossed in pine nut pesto; shaved black pepper salami; and fresh arugula

1515 Restaurant, 1515 Market Street, will present a four-course dinner paired with beers from Oregon's Widmer Brothers Brewery tonight at 6 p.m. The beer dinner costs $40 and features the brewery's reserved Hefeweizen, the Old Embalmer Barleywine and the Nelson Imperial IPA; call 303-571-0011 for more details and reservations.

Saturday, January 12:

The seventeenth annual Quaker Oatmeal Festival and 5K run takes place today from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Burger Recreation Center,111 West Baseline in Lafayette. The family event promotes a healthy lifestyle and features screenings, oatmeal baking contests and a community blood drive. Visit the website for more information.
