The Denny's at 1605 Federal Boulevard has undergone a major remodel in the past few months — it's the second local location of this chain to get the new look, and a third will follow soon. The restaurant is reopening today at 9 a.m., and to celebrate the successful completion, this Denny's — and this Denny's only — will give the first hundred guests through the doors a free Original Grand Slam breakfast (two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs, two bacon strips and two sausage links). The festivities will continue through lunch and dinner, with hundreds of additional prizes given away during the day-long celebration.

If you're looking for something a little more high-brow (and definitely more pricey), Frasca Food and Wine may have just the thing for you. Frasca's first Tastemaker event of the year features Luca Currado of the Barolo region's Vietti Wines. Get to know the wine and winemaker over dinner, which starts at 6 p.m. Seats are $465 per person; visit frascafoodandwine.com.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
