Babettes Artisan Bread departed The Source, and Denver, last November, but Steve Scott's artisan breads were not lost forever. Scott and his wife, Catherine, are launching a bigger version of their bakery today (Saturday, February 9) in Longmont, and they've added pizza to the menu. The new shop is called Babettes Pizza & Pane, and it will start serving pizzas from a wood-burning oven at 11 a.m. The bakery will be open at 7 a.m. every day but Monday, and pizza will be served for dinner Tuesday through Friday, and for lunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays.

Green Light Lab signed off on February 2, and posted this message on Facebook: "We are excited to have a group of friends take reins here and develop their own concept. We never knew if a little bar tucked away in Denver's best alley (even without a sign) would succeed, but with your help it was an incredible success! We had a great time getting to know so many wonderful people. All of this is to say THANK YOU to our community for your tremendous support."

As for openings, more barbecue, more bread and brioche doughnuts were added to Denver's dining menu this week, continuing 2019's quick start for new restaurants and other culinary ventures. Here's our complete list of openings (and closings) in January, in case you want to see what you missed.

Not enough for you? We kept a record of every opening and closing for all of 2018, so there's plenty to choose from if you're running out of ideas for a fun night out.
