The Cherry Cricket makes one of the town's great hamburgers (here's Jason Sheehan's List of the town's Best Burgers), which is why the Travel Channel will be stopping by Denver's Best Burger Bar at 2641 East Second Avenue today, to film a segment of Man v. Food with host Adam Richman. You can catch the Cricket action between 1:30 and 9:30 p.m. -- and grab a burger at the same time. (On Thursday, Richman will be at Jack-n-Grill.)

CityGrille's burgers don't rate as high in Sheehan's book (he loves the fries and chile, though, preferably together). But they still have plenty of fans -- and the restaurant at 321 East Colfax Avenue just served what it claims is its millionth burger, earning customer Shavonne Blades free CityGrille hamburgers for a year.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
