Dia De Los Muertos, Halloween and more beer on the calendar this week

Despite its ongoing fight with the city, El Diablo will be hosting its annual Dia de los Muertos Celebration on Tuesday, October 30. And that's not the only spooky event on the culinary calendar -- there are plenty of Halloween parties that should be a real treat.

Monday, October 29:

Linger -- Justin Cucci's restaurant based in a former mortuary -- will be the spooky setting for Necro Noche, a costume-mandatory Halloween party and contest that benefits GrowHaus. Tickets are $100 or $150 VIP. Find out more here.

Pizza Republica, 5375 Landmark Place in Greenwood Village, is hosting a four-course beer dinner paired with brews from Lefthand Brewing -- including the brewery's seasonal Oktoberfest -- tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. The meal with pairings costs $40; call the restaurant at 720-489-2030 to reserve a seat.

Tuesday, October 30:

El Diablo, 101 Broadway, presents its Día de los Muertos Celebration and Tattoo Artist Skull Show from 8 p.m. to close. There will be food and drink specials, muertos-style face-painting by Indie Six Salon, and spins by DJ Gonzo. Silent bidding on the dozens of artworks will be accepted throughout the evening (proceeds benefit the Mi Casa Resource Center), and a happy hour with $1 tacos begins at 11 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are recommended if you're planning to eat dinner; call 303-954-0324 for more information.

Cafe 180, 3315 South Broadway in Englewood, will welcome Daniel Asher of Root Down and Linger for a special dinner and discussion on his approach to food; guests can also enjoy local beer and wine pairings to match Asher's dishes. The event starts at 7 p.m. and costs $75, which will go to Cafe 180's efforts to provide food for people of all incomes. Call the nonprofit restaurant at 303-761-4510 to RSVP.Wednesday, October 31:

Centro Latin Kitchen & Refreshment Palace, 950 Pearl Street in Boulder, will host a superhero-themed Halloween party tonight with food and drink specials, and trick-or-treat giveaways. Costumes are encouraged; call 303-442-7771 for more details.

West End Tavern, 926 Pearl Street in Boulder, will become "Zombie Central" today with a whole-pig roast, drink specials and trick-or-treats. The haunted-themed event will also feature a screening of the latest Warren Miller movie. Call 303-444-3535 for more information.

Lala's Wine Bar + Pizzeria, 410 East Seventh Avenue, will present a Halloween-themed, five-course wine dinner tonight at 7 p.m. The meal will be followed by a 60-minute bus tour through Capitol Hill, with haunted mansion ghost stories. The event costs $75 and reservations are required; call 303-861-9463 to do so.Thursday, November 1:

It's Vegan Thursday at TAG|RAW Bar, 1430 Larimer Street. The restaurant offers a special four-course, vegan omakase menu anytime during dinner service for $30 per person.

Saturday, November 3:

The sixth annual All Colorado Beer Festival takes place today at Freedom Financial Expo Center, 3650 North Nevada Avenue in Colorado Springs. The festival features forty breweries from around the state pouring samples, live music and a judged competition. Tickets costs $30 and organizers are donating 100 percent of their proceeds to local charities. There are two sessions -- one from 1 to 4:30 p.m., and the other from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Designated-driver tickets are available for $10. For more information, go to the festival website.

Coohills, 1400 Wewatta Street, is toasting its one-year anniversary with a complimentary glass of Chandon Blanc de Noirs and an amuse bouche from 5 to 9 p.m. this evening. Additionally, bottles of Jordan Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon will be half-priced. Reservations are recommended; call the restaurant at 303-623-5700 for more information.
