On Sunday, September 22, DISH will dish out food and drinks from dozens of Cafe Society's favorite restaurants and trucks, as well as Best of Denver readers' winners, in the Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Boone's Tavern will join the lineup this year, serving up its self-proclaimed "gringo green chile" that won the Best Green Chile award in the 2013 Best of Denver.

Owner Rob Lanphier began developing the recipe for the verde over fifteen years ago and has since perfected it with the help of chef Nate Herbert. The medium-thick combination of spices, Colorado pork and a "little sass" is a staple on the menu at Boone's, which features a catch-all selection of pub and Mexican fare.

"We use as much local sourced products as money allows," says Lanphier. "And we have a good time doing this."

DISH runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sunday 22. (VIP ticket-holders get in at noon.) For more information about Westword's annual celebration of the Denver dining scene, including how to buy tickets, visit our 2013 Westword DISH site.
