Not every vegetarian and vegan in the city is going to be cooking his or her own Tofurkey tomorrow, and although there are several places with traditional buffets open for business, you never know what, exactly, goes into preparing those items. Rest assured, meat-shunners: Govinda's Buffet, 1400 Cherry Street, is open for business from 1 to 8 p.m. tomorrow. Here's what's on the menu:

Butternut squash soup Mashed potatoes and brown gravy Corn on the cob Cauliflower pakoras Cranberry chutney "Happy turkey" stuffing Fresh corn bread Green beans with potatoes and paneer Sweet potatoes with pineapple, walnuts and raisins Pumpkin pie Cranberry cake

The buffet is $8 to $10; call 303-333-4561 or visit www.krishnadenver.com/buffet.html.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
