The Whole Foods in Golden is now pouring Marley Coffee -- the only store in the state to distribute the coffee promoted by Rohan Marley, Bob Marley's son. "My father came from the farmland in Jamaica and frequently spoke about returning to the farm one day," he says. "We created Marley Coffee to honor my father and let others have a taste of his dream." Rohan Marley will be at the Whole Foods Market Colfax at 14357 West Colfax Avenue in Golden from 1 to 3 p.m. tomorrow to offer tastes and meet customers -- but you can get an advance taste of the coffee from 10 a.n. to 2 p.m. today, when the Golden store will be offering free samples of Marley Coffee as well as other giveaways. For more information, call 303-2771339.

And after you've had your caffeine fix, go for sugar. The two Firehouse Subs in metro Denver -- one in Lakewood at 650 South Wadsworth Boulevard; one in Thornton at 10060 Grant Street -- will be giving away free fountain drinks from 4 to 6 p.m. today to promote the chain's new Coca-Cola Freestyle fountains, which can pour more than 120 drinks. (And if you want to skip the sugar, seventy of them are low- or no-calorie options.) Find more information here.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
