Snow's in the forecast for the last day of April, and because that's the worst kind of weather for an outdoor bash devoted to street food and booze, the Food Truck Warriors -- a group that includes Street Eats, the Crock Spot, Biscuit Bus, Steuben's, Max Lunch, Brava Pizzeria, Stick it to Me, The Bon Bon Buggy, Mikes2 Kitchen, Mythos Greek and Sweet Revenge Cupcakes -- have pushed back their kick-off party until the sun returns.
"Due to the cold, rain and snow that has been forecasted for Saturday, we took precautionary measures and decided to postpone the kickoff party for a few weeks," reads the update to the group's Facebook event.
"We are in NO WAY canceling the event. We are just as excited as everyone else to get out and have fun in the sun, so we are planning on kicking off the festivities in a few weeks so we can enjoy delish food, beer and amazing tunes in the sun rather than the cold."
The organizers note that many of the trucks that were scheduled to show up at tomorrow's festivities still plan to stop by the party location, a parking lot at Ninth Avenue and Bannock Street. But there won't be any DJ -- or beer.
There's no make-up date on the calendar yet, but we'll let you know when one is scheduled. And in the meantime, our contest -- which will net someone free food and free beer at the rescheduled fete -- has been extended past tonight's deadline. So keep leaving your responses in the comments.
