Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

The holiday weekend is upon us, and there are plenty of opportunities to start celebrating even before the Fourth of July. Here are three of our favorite deals today.

Today the History Colorado Center will allow all museum members and kids twelve and under in free to see Food: Our Global Kitchen. Hours for Family Day are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; for more information, visit historycoloradocenter.org

Every Thursday in July, select Chipotle locations will be offering buy-one-get-one free Patron margaritas from 4 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit chipotle.com.

Celebrate the Fourth a day early with great views of the fireworks at Coors Field tonight from the patio at Lower48 Kitchen, our Best New Restaurant in the Best of Denver 2014. Not only does this place have great food, but it has a great view of the fireworks in the Ballpark neighborhood, our Best Restaurant Neighborhood. For the occasion, Lower48 chefs Alex Figura and Greg Schesser will be serving up an all-night happy-hour menu that includes Tender Belly corn dogs, street corn, ice cream sandwiches, drink specials and more. For reservations or more info, call 303-942-0262.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
